Ralph Sampson

Founder

At a young age, Sampson learned both the importance of teamwork and leadership, as he led his high school basketball team to three state championships.


After high school, 7’4” Sampson went on to the University of Virginia where he posted an impressive 123-22 record, won a championship, and was voted National Player of the Year in three of his four seasons. 


Sampson was selected by the Houston Rockets as the Number One pick in the NBA Draft. As a rookie, he averaged 21 points and 11 rebounds and won the NBA Rookie of the Year. A five-time All Star during his career with the Rockets, he led his team to the NBA Finals in 1986. He went on to play for the Golden State Warriors and completed his NBA career with the Sacramento Kings. He has been inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame, the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011, and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012.

Lamont Goins

Director

Lamont Goins is a highly respected Director of Basketball Operations. With a bachelor’s degree from theUniversity of North Carolina at Pembroke, and over 20 years of distribution logistical experience, Coach Goins understands complex planning and execution. Lamont developed and implemented the ACTSports basketball program, in Staunton VA. Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the program. With over 13 youth teams and a travel AAU division Lamont and staff accomplished and developed a unique perspective of the challenges and demands that comes with operating a sports program. Lamont coached basketball for Union Pines High School in Cameron, North Carolina for over 5 years. A former student assistant at Pinecrest High School for the late Coach Jeff Capel, Sr. Coach Goins learned the logistical aspect of a great basketball program at an early age. Lamont is a co-host of the Weekly Podcast. “The G.Q. Coaches Show” – The Real Talk in Sports, which has been on ESPN radio along with other national streaming platforms.

Robert Sampson

Coach

As an American professional basketball player, Robert graduated from Bullis High School in Maryland where as a senior he won a state championship. After High School Robert attend East Carolina and in his junior year he transferred to Georgia Tech where he graduated. After graduation and still today Robert have found a home play professional basketball overseas in Japan.

Ralph Sampson III

Coach

Ralph Sampson III attended Northview High School in John Creek, Georgia. As a senior, he averaged 19.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 7.0 blocks per game in leading Northview to its first state tournament appearance and a 21-9 record.


After High School Ralph III attended the University Minnesota started every Big Ten Conference game, helping the Gophers earn an NCAA tournament bid, and finished second on the team in both rebounds and blocked shots per game. Sampson started at forward and center in his sophomore and junior seasons for the Gophers and saw his minutes, points, and blocks per game increase each year.

Alyssa Lundgren

Fitness & Nutrition

Alyssa Lundgren is a highly respected fitness and nutrition expert with extensive experience in the field of health and wellness. With a Bachelor's degree in Biology and over 13 years managing a medical research lab at The University of Virginia, Alyssa has a deep understanding of the complex interplay between nutrition and physical fitness. Her experience as an awarding winning competitive dancer and accomplished athlete provides her with a unique perspective of the challenges and demands that athletes and performers face, making her a sought-after coach and trainer.


As the founder of her own fitness and wellness consulting business, Alyssa works with diverse clients, including high school, college, and professional athletes, helping them perform at the highest level through personalized nutrition programs. Alyssa's approach to sports nutrition is science-based and holistic, taking into account not only physical fitness but also mental and emotional well-being.
